Free Application for Federal Student Aid

The month of January is the start of the Financial Aid Season for Chicago Public Schools students who will graduate in June of 2009. All seniors must apply for Free Application Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) before March 15, 2009. The FAFSA completion goal for Area 26 this year is set at 85%. To assist each of the Military Schools to reach the area goal CPS, has opened more than 20 Financial Aid Centers across the District. Spring Break College Tours

The Department of College and Career Preparation (formally the Department of Postsecondary Education and Student Development) and Area 26 sponsor a variety of college tours throughout the school year. Tours to college campuses include: The Ivy League, Historically Black Colleges and Universities, The Big Ten and Illinois Colleges Hispanic Serving Institutions, United States Military Academy, United States Naval Academy, United States Coast Guard Academy and Norwich University. In addition, academies’ within Area 26 offer tours throughout the school year.
